Dachshund jewelry - handmade, recycled spoon brooches

Please click the images for a closer look...

"The Dachshund is a dynamic and affectionate breed. They are bold, proud and can be quite tenacious at times. They enjoy the outdoors and love to dig. They like to bark and are mischievous little dogs. Their small size makes them ideal for apartment living, and they are relatively easy to care for. A Dachshund is a loyal companion who will love spending time with you. " - Dachshund Savvy.com Thus the perfect little dog to inspire a lovely little brooch handcut with a traditional jewellers saw from the 'bowl' of an old antique Victorian dessert spoon. Each brooch is completely unique, individual and special, just like the real thing...

The one above was created and inspired by a customer who liked the shape and style of the Dachshund but wanted something minimal, simple and stylish.

Recycled serving spoon summer blossom tree prototype

It turned out quite nice :
I have soldered a lovely locking pin on the reverse. I definately think these could be a good addition to the site.

Summer tree brooch recycled from an old antique serving spoon

Well here we are again! After getting over the joy of setting up this blog i spent the rest of Sunday creating a new design. This lovely little tree brooch has been designed around the constraints of the 'bowl' of a serving spoon. I kinda like the roots, tree of life style look at the moment and feel the need to cut roots on everything! I like it.
The actual spoon i've used was in a pretty shocking state. So now i've cut it out i will have to spend quite a bit of time filing and polishing! If i finish it tonight or tomorrow i will pop up a picture. I think i will create a few of these for Glastonbury and see the response. If they go down well it will definately be on the website by the end of July!
Anyhoo, back to work...
bye
